Hi, I'm Joyce Chiavacci
I am a certified teacher with 23 years of combined experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and curriculum coach. My passion and drive in life to work with struggling readers goes back to my junior high years when I found out I had dyslexia. I did not want other kids to experience the embarrassment, low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, thoughts of not being smart enough, and feelings of low self-worth.
I became a classroom teacher to help struggling kids, but soon realized the whole class size of 25 kids didn’t effectively work. Kids were falling through the cracks. I focused on what it would take to help those kids, so I focused on obtaining the knowledge necessary to work with kids in small groups and 1:1 to make the biggest impact. I love what I do and reap the rewards of helping others in so many ways.
